Marathon Training Program.

It was a dark and stormy night... Or: The night was moist.
Either would be a mundane start to a story (From: any Peanuts cartoon, and Throw Mama From the Train respectively), or a description of the weather here in Chicago tonight. It's crazy out there right now. Hot, humid and uncomfortable. Also pouring down rain, with thunder/lightning storms right outside the window. Those are always fun to watch/listen to. I'm up having some pizza and beer while watching M*A*S*H reruns. It really is a great show. Radar is my favorite.
Anyway, i came across an old marathon training schedule while cleaning out my desk at work. It reminded me that i was going to post my 'patented-but not recommended to anyone-10 week marathon training schedule'. I have never really gone back to look at them, and was pleased to see that they were somewhat similar.
As I say, these plans are not recommended for anyone, and it should be noted that I had a solid running base (i.e. quality miles) before attempting.
So, without further ado, here's a way to run a marathon, with only 10 weeks notice!
week -- Long Run Miles
1 ------ 6 - or - 6
2 ------ 10 - or - 12
3 ------ 14 - or - 14
4 ------ 13.5 -or - 17
5 ------ 12 - or - 11
6 ------ 17 - or - 14
7 ------ 20 - or - 20
8 ------ 14 - or - 12
9 ------ 9 - or - 2
10 ----- 26.2 - or - 26.2

The "or" column represents the second time i ran the 10 week plan. (It should be noted i got sick on the 9th week the second time, and hence only got 2 miles in [but also should be noted that i ended up running my fastest time ever (PR of 3:13:14) so maybe that rest week helped!]).

Results may vary.

ha ha ha- but you're not going to become more popular than Blaine with that kind of lead up. You have to sound waaaay more pretentious and bossy! Also, have you read anything that pRed's been posting- that guy is a total douche.

Where's the blog about getting stopped by the cops for buying crack? I signed on to read it after catching up on your calendar but alas, there isn't one...
